If you love money, then you'll love this
Lots of money being thrown at green energy projects today.
Did you know? Solar energy is by far the most abundant energy resource on Earth. A whopping 173,000 terawatts of solar energy strike the Earth at all times. That's more than 10,000 times the world's total energy use. If we could capture that, we wouldn't need anything else for eternity.
In today’s news:
Fortune 500 and clean energy: Walmart is working to convert half of their Michigan stores to fully sustainable energy.
Countries working together: The US and Japan committed to building out more hydrogen, nuclear, and wind energy programs.
Goalsetting experts: The US hit their 2025 goal of permitting more than 25 gigawatts of clean energy projects.
Walmart making investments in sustainable energy
Consumers Energy and Walmart are teaming up to convert Walmart stores. The agreement states that half of Walmart's Michigan stores (44 out of 94) will use wind and solar to power them.
Consumers Energy gives gas and electricity to lots of people in Michigan. They want to stop using coal for energy by 2025 and use more clean energy like wind and solar. They're working hard to make Michigan cleaner and greener.'
This is an interesting choice to us. Michigan gets an average of 170 sunny days a year, less than the US average of 205 sunny days a year.
